Magic In the Air

"That was so tangible, all around there was happiness, joy,
celebration. As I walked hand in hand with my most beloved, we walked
gayly out of the movie theater and there was that feeling, the feeling
that something special, lovely, magical was in the air that we
breathed. Small little clouds of steam puffed out of the mouths and
noses of the people around us, and yet for us it was not the case, it
was love flowing between us and wrapping us in a warm blanket. You
might think this is all too good to be true but it gets better"
"Down the wide open avenues to the heart, there we stopped,
surrounded by the beauty of Rockefeller center. High above glistening
with lights was the Christmas tree and around were other joyous
couples skating around us, with us, then it happened, in my head I knew
it was time, and out from my back pocket came a red velvet box
yearning to be opened. Down on one knee I recited the phrase ending
with..." "Will you marry me"? And she said "Yes"!
All around came applause and congratulations when looking around
again, I saw other boys, men or what ever we were, following my lead
and there was a chorus of "Will you marry me"? es and "Yes"es all
around with us in the center. Then it couldn't have been more perfect!
A kiss of all kisses! At that very moment I saw a single pair of
snowflakes gently touchdown on our noses and then it started snowing
as if we were in a movie. Down the wide open avenues we strolled, now
with completely new lives ahead of us. Hopefully much better lives,
where sadness, pain, and jealousy will never be a problem...that was
then what will now be?
Snow is falling from the skies, this is when kids wear
inside-out PJs and some have put spoons underneath pillows. As for me I
look out my bedroom window, the world I know blanketed by mother
nature in a thick white sheet of snow.
Under the street light there is a new couple being made around
them swirling snow and a blanket of love he gets down on one knee and
pulls out the little box and recites the lines ending with " will you
marry me" followed by the ever so exited " yes", now the snow swirls
faster around the two and there they kiss...
This is now that was then...
