The leaves fall
Covering the earth in a fiery blanket
The mercury falls
Bringing out coats and hats
The crisp cold wind
Whistles through the now empty trees
Bringing forth the new season
Flowers are dug up and brought inside
Leaving the yards bare
Just as the green grass is covered in white dust
Turning it brown and yellow
The clouds roll over shading the sun
And small white crystals begin to fall
Floating, swirling, twirling they go
Blanketing the earth in white snow
Children run into the yards
Leaving little foot prints sunk in the snow
To cope with the ever dark world
People sing and make good cheer
Trees and lights are seen all around
And holiday music fills the air
Families draw together to light the candles one by one
As the children squirm until its time for gifts
Couples lie benethe blankets
In front of the fire
Then all the children go to sleep
As Saint Nicholas flies down the chimney
Leaving presents nice and neat
To be opened at once by morning
The snow still lays on the earth
As families travel to join themselves
As people cut down the mountain sides
And as cups of hot chocolate are drunk
Snow forts are built
Kids zip down hills on sleds
And couples glide on ice
As the season begins to warm
The snow melts
And the leaves fill the trees
The grass begins shoots new sprouts
And the clouds part
Letting the sun thaw the earth
Letting Spring begin
